Section One Blog Project of Golgairi

A. ENVIRONMENT

It's a typical day here at Dendei (a planet located just out of reach of the Milky Way Galaxy) and home to my species, the Golgairi. Temperature high enough to get our sturdy skin boiling in direct sunlight in a couple of minutes. Having two suns doesn't help the fact. Surrounded by vast dessert littered with blistering hot sand as far as the eye can see, sits our community comprised of temples, shrines, and markets. Any foreign clans or species are unknown on this planet except for us. After numerous failed explorations and missing search parties, the Supreme Golgairi disbanded any hope for the discovery of any potential trade/ ally society. Our flora is naturally scarse due to the harsh heat. Aside from the shady palm trees, only edible crops are to be planted and maintained since water supply is always threatened. Our food is quite simple. Usual diets consist of water, insects, dried meat and fruit.


B. CULTURAL KNOWLEGDE

Norms -

We the Golgairi are a proud yet gracious species.Therefore it is required in standard primary education courses to learn and practice rituals to serve our God, Emrakul. And due to a specific ritual, predetermined fractions await all members in Golgairi society. Since traditional birth rates in the past between a male and female of different lineage almost caused great stress for all time low workers, it was ruled that inter family related members can bear each other's children. Which is also the case why laws are always changing to best fit problems faced at that time.

Values -

Nothing is worthier to us Golgairis than serving the one true Emrakul. Ruby stones is our most materialistic prized commodity a Golgairi can own and can only be acquired by an annual selection of the Supreme. Water is the next precious resource to our survival. Fights can often break out if one was to go over their designated water rations. 

Worldview -

As mentioned above, we Golgairi have abandoned all hope in finding our place in the world. It would be suicide to try with our current technology.

C.STRUCTURE/ SOCIAL ORGANIZATION

The biggest part in every Golgairi's life is the Sacrifice Ritual. During this ritual, all 18 year old Golgairi must stand upon the holy shine of Emrakul and lend him one of either half of your brain. It is up to the individual which side he/ she gives him. This in term limits the perception on that individual's view on life. Refusal results in full body sacrifice upon the block. Social structure is key to allocating specific duties in our institutions. Those who find themselves contemplating of devotion to Emrakul tend to join the education and justice fractions, discussing the technical aspects of the society.  On the other hand, a majority of those who pledge their lifes to Emrakul would find themselves joining the ranks of the warrior and religious classes. Aside from the annual ruby stones given to a select few, there is no wealth among Golgairi. Thus we all do our tasks to serve the community an get our fair rations of water and food.








D. AREAS OF CULTURAL INTEREST

Family is the primary force behind the continued Golgairi culture. They have the ability to instill the basic fundamentals/ rules to their children and guide them down the righteous path. Equality is another important area behind Golgairi culture reminding us that everyone is below the almighty Emrakul.
